The role of the Group Representative is to attend meetings on behalf of the Users Group and to represent the views and policies of the group at those meetings. They are not there as private individuals but as representatives of the NSUG

The meetings are always connected with Mental Health in some way – they may be concerned with planning future services or evaluating past ones. They may be concerned with developing policy and practice in a particular, narrow area (Primary Care, say, or Acute Services), or they may be concerned to make decisions across a range of services.

Group Representatives – two-day module in the general structure of service planning and commissioning. You will also be equipped with the speaking and presentation skills that will enable you to carry out your role with confidence.
How much time would I be expected to give?
This depends on the frequency of the meetings that you attend. Two hours every six or so weeks is a typical average
