Job Description
go onto the wards, at Harplands Hospital or at other locations such as Resource Centres
talk with service users about concerns or worries
have empathy with and understand mental ill health
the ability to listen sympathetically to service users
record issues raised
Raise concerns/issues with staff members with permission of the service user
Raise issues/concerns with NSUG staff when issues are not resolved or additional help/support is needed.

Core Training
User Rep Training. The course doesn’t require any previous knowledge or any particular academic ability and is geared to give people the basic information and skills that they need in order to work as a User Representative
You will also visit the wards and other settings to see existing volunteers in action.
